Remembering Brittany Murphy 9 years Later

Brittany Murphy-Monjack (born Brittany Anne Bertolotti; November 10, 1977 – December 20, 2009)   An American actress and singer. A native of Atlanta, Murphy moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and pursued a career in acting. Her breakthrough role was as Tai Frasier in Clueless (1995), followed by supporting roles in independent films such as Freeway (1996) and Bongwater (1998). She made her stage debut in a Broadway production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge in 1997, before appearing as Daisy Randone in Girl, Interrupted (1999) and as Lisa Swenson in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). In the 2000s Murphy appeared in Don't Say a Word (2001) alongside Michael Douglas, and alongside Eminem in 8 Mile (2002), for which she gained critical recognition. Her later roles included Riding in Cars with Boys (2001), Spun (2002), Uptown Girls (2003), Sin City (2005), and Happy Feet (2006). Thelma Todd (July 29, 1906 – December 16, 1935)  Was an American actress. Appearing in about 120 pictures between 1926 and 1935, she is best remembered for her comedic roles in films such as Marx Brothers' Monkey Business, Horse Feathers, and a number of Charley Chase's short comedies and co-starring with Buster Keaton and Jimmy Durante in Speak Easily. She also had roles in Wheeler and Woolsey farces and several Laurel and Hardy films, the last of which (The Bohemian Girl) featured her in a part that was truncated by her suspicious death at the age of 29. Todd was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to John Shaw Todd, an upholsterer from Ireland, and Alice Elizabeth Edwards, an immigrant from Canada. She was Married once to low level mobster Pat DiCicco from 1932 to 1934. DiCicco was also the first husband of Socialite Gloria Vanderbilt when she was just 17. This festive time of the year we usually gather to watch Holiday Classics such as It’s a Wonderful Life the 1946 classic Holiday film and one of the stars of this classic is actress Gloria Grahame. I’m sure few really know how Scandalous her life really was before her death from breast and abdominal cancer in 1981.  Born Gloria Grahame Hallward on November 28, 1923 in Los Angeles CA she made her first film for MGM in 1944. Her contract was sold to RKO Studios in 1947 and was primarily cast in Film Noir. She also made movies for Columbia Pictures.  Personal Life Grahame today is more well known for her chaotic personal life. Married 4 times and having 4 children.  Her first husband was actor Stanley Clements in August 1945. They Divorced in June 1948. The very next day her divorce became final she married Nicholas Ray.
